A Day in Care: Music and Stories from my Mother with Dementia and Me
Memories in Music: A Singer's Journey with Her Mother Through the World of Dementia.
My name is Debbie Hulskamp (DEBSTER) and I am a singer. As a professional musician who studied music, I am surrounded by the power of music every day. In this blog I share my personal stories about my mother, who lives with dementia, and the way music and singing build a bridge in her care. I regularly perform in care institutions, where I experience how music can have a deep impact, even when words are no longer enough.

Dementia is a serious disease, but music has the power to evoke memories, express emotions and show love, even when it becomes difficult to communicate. By sharing my experiences I hope to inspire others and show how music can mean so much in healthcare.
